Ocean Keys Shopping Centre (Stage 5)

Date: 2014

Taylor Robinson Chaney Broderick have been architects for the design of Ocean Keys Shopping Centre since the site was tendered by Landcorp in 1998 and acquired by Coles Myer. The first stage, completed in 2001, included supermarkets for Coles and Newmart (CML brands at that time). Stage Two added K-Mart and enlarged Newmart (later Action). More recent phases further enlarged the Action (now Woolworths).

Taylor Robinson Chaney Broderick have designed the new Stage 5 for AMP, who acquired the centre in 2006. This stage, completed in late 2014, adds a further DDS, new specialty retail, parking and north facing development (along the mainstreet) inclusive of a new food precinct.

Ocean Keys Shopping Centre (Stage 5) Redevelopment won the 2015 ‘Architecture Award’ in Commercial Architecture, with the jury commending the centre’s significant contribution to the surrounding urban fabric through its textually rich use of materiality and permeable street frontage.
